The metagenomic tests LUCY-PLUS16s™ and LUCY-WGS™ allow obtaining the profiling of the microbiota to evaluate its composition and the presence of any imbalance (ocular dysbiosis) that may be associated (or predispose) to ocular pathological conditions. Sequencing compared with LUCY (healthy eye control database).

| What it finds |
|
|
|
ALL BACTERIA
The test identifies all bacteria present in the collected sample providing the complete list together with other parameters (such as diversity, prevalence, ratios between species) through rRNA 16S sequencing.
|
ALL MICROORGANISMS
The Metagenomic WGS (Whole Genomic Sequencing) test allows identifying all micro-organisms present: bacteria, viruses, fungi, protozoa. The report includes the complete list together with other parameters on the composition of the entire ocular microbiome.

The Lucy WGS test is the most complete as it detects, in addition to bacteria, also fungi, viruses, protozoa and returns the exact composition of the entire analyzed microbiome (qualitative and quantitative).
•
The result is compared with our healthy eye database, unique in the world, indicating how much the analyzed sample deviates from normality.
•
The analyzed microbiome is compared with that of some pathological conditions such as Vernal keratoconjunctivitis, blepharoconjunctivitis, dry eye (data extracted from the most recent world literature).
