Why is it important to do the ocular microbiome and/or PCR test?

What does the LucyLAC test find?

It searches for the following pathogens responsible for the most frequent ocular infections:

Bacteria: Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus pneumoniae, Moraxella catarrhalis, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Haemophilus influenzae, Chlamydia trachomatis.
Viruses: Herpes simplex type 1 and 2, adenovirus, Varicella-zoster, Epstein-Barr, Cytomegalovirus, Human herpesvirus 6 and 7, Kaposi's sarcoma virus.
Fungi: Fusarium solani, Aspergillus fumigatus, Candida albicans.
Parasites: Acanthamoeba (serious in contact lens wearers).
